Here we go

Yesterday, I left my job of 13 years. Today, I launch my own game development company.

Ever since I started making games in my free time around 5 years ago, I’ve been daydreaming about doing this. Now that I’m actually sitting here, on my first day, I feel oddly calm about the whole thing. Was expecting more nerves, but I’ve been careful and methodical in setting this up, so I’m feeling confident that everything is in order. I also know how difficult it is to succeed as an indie dev these days, so I’m managing my expectations about the future of September Games.

I’m going to do my best, release Stilt Fella within a few months. After that I have another game that’s fairly far along in development. If either one becomes profitable, maybe this whole crazy idea might actually work out!

Ok, checklist time.

Business stuff has been handled. Website’s up and running. Social media accounts set up. Here we go.

  1. While there isn’t all that much on the site yet, I like its look and feel, and I like the video footage of Stilt Fella. Will have to check it out when it comes out; it’s not necessarily my kind of genre, but it looks fun.

I have said so elsewhere, but good luck! And don’t let your new boss talk you into too much crunch time. 😉
